Circa 1800's Hand Made Side Chair in Crompond, New York

This is a beautiful example of a side chair dating back before our country industrialized (early 19 century) Upon inspection the irregular planing of the wood shows the meticulous skill of the craftsperson whom made this, probably for their own family. I can only speculate on the age of the rush seat, but it is showing it's age. Chair measures 33' high x 14 1/2" deep x 17" wide, rush seat stands 13 1/2" from floor. This makes a wonderful decorative piece, Shaker style, hung on a wall or just to place in a cozy room. It is from a Vermont country home. Bring a real piece of Americana to yours.
